A recent and unreleased song that is representative of my most recent material.
Performed with collaborator Jodi McLaren in Salt Lake City, UT.
Hi! I am a singer/songwriter and musician based in Asheville, NC. I play contemporary, “soul-inspired” folk music.
I aim to create self-reflection and connection among my listeners, and that is rooted in a life-long passion for cultivating growth in myself and others. I write songs to gain clarity and insight around meaningful experiences, and I share them to enjoy deep connection with others. I believe endlessly in the resilience of the human spirit, and the message I share through song is intended to leave audiences inspired to be alive, while also acknowledging the hardship and challenges we all face in our shared humanity.
I have performed alongside local musicians Luna Ray, David LaMotte, Chris Rosser, and Billy Jonas. I have performed on stages that include TEDx, The Grey Eagle, Isis Music Hall, and Diana Wortham Theatre. I support the causes of domestic violence awareness, youth empowerment, and peace-building. In March 2019 I released my debut album, "Roots Alive," which I am proudly sharing this year locally and regionally.
In 2018 alongside friend and musician Ben Brill, I co-wrote and co-produced a children's music album called "Come Play with Me" in a collaborative band project named Dolphin Bum Bum.
I also work to support other musicians emotionally and spiritually with a professional service called Holistic Musician Coaching. Those interested in individual or group support programs can read more about what is offered on my website, at www.asherleighmusic.com.
