Mezzo-soprano/alto Laura Williams is passionate about performing and working as a Singing Voice Specialist, or “Vocologist,” where she consults and habilitates singers with injured voices. After experiencing vocal trauma and subsequent surgeries, she recovered vocally when she studied Vocology with founder Ingo Titze at the National Center for Voice and Speech in Salt Lake City. She now has a private vocal studio and recently served on the voice faculties of the University of Colorado-Denver and the University of Northern Colorado. Laura’s music degrees are from CU Boulder (MM, Vocal Performance) and Brevard College (BM, Vocal Performance) in Brevard, North Carolina.
Laura has combined her work with her love of traveling and taught in Beijing (CAU International College of Beijing) and sung with the International Bachakademie in Stuttgart and the Weimar Bach Cantata Academie under Helmuth Rilling, Hans-Christoph Rademann and Kathy Romey, where she toured in Germany, Chile and Tunisia. Recently, Laura has performed as both a soloist and choral member with the Oregon Bach Festival, Colorado Bach Ensemble, the Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Colorado and as an alto with the Charlotte Bach Festival Cantata Choir, The King’s Counterpoint and the Charleston Symphony.
